The Fiancé(e) Visa allows US citizens to sponsor their fiancé(e) living abroad to come to the United States to get married and live and work in the US on a permanent basis. The Fiancée Visa is only available when the foreign fiancé(e) is outside the United States.
Upon approval of the K-1 Visa, the foreign fiancé(e) may enter the US to get married and apply for permanent residence. As a permanent resident, foreigners have the right to live and work in the United States permanently, leave and return to the United States with few limitations, attend public schools and colleges and apply to become a US citizen when eligible to do so.
