SASKATCHEWAN IMMIGRANT NOMINEE PROGRAM BASIC VISA REQUIREMENTS
The SINP allows the nomination of applicants who possess either an offer of permanent full-time esmployment in Saskatchewan in an occupation/trade in Saskatchewan, or an offer of permanent full-time employment in a management position, or has worked in Saskatchewan for at least six months on a temporary work permit in a designated occupation. This program has several different categories which are outlined below.
Under the Skilled Workers Category, applicants which are skilled workers, professionals or managers who have a full-time, permanent job offer from a Saskatchewan employer can be nominated and includes the following three sub-categories: Skilled Workers/Professionals, Critical Occupations, and Existing Work Permit.
Under the Health Professions Category, internationally-trained health professionals, who have been working in Saskatchewan for at least six months under a temporary work permit, can apply for landed immigrant status under the SINP. This program is geared towards physicians, nurses and other health professions.
Under the Hospitality Sector Project Category, foreign workers which are currently working in Saskatchewan in one of the following categories: Food/Beverage Server Food Counter Attendant/Kitchen Helper or Housekeeping/Cleaning Staff may be nominated for permanent residence.
Under the Long Haul Truck Drivers Category, foreign workers may be selected for occupations requiring a high school diploma or on-the-job training under Service Canada's Temporary Foreign Worker policy.
SASKATCHEWAN IMMIGRANT NOMINEE PROGRAM VISA ENTITLEMENTS
Successful applicants and holders of a Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee visa become permanent residents of Canada. Permanent residents are entitled to live, work and study in Canada on a permanent basis.
Additional benefits of Canadian permanent residence includes access to government-subsidised education and state of the art healthcare (Medicare), as well as unrestricted access to Canada's labour market and associated insurance and pension benefits. Permanent residents also have the ability to apply for Canadian citizenship and opportunity to sponsor family members to join them in Canada. |
